Day 5 – Hanoi: Vivian Lai Yee Qi

Redefine Your Limits

Day 5 – Hanoi: Vivian Lai Yee Qi

“HANOI~HANOI~…” We arrived at Hanoi around 5:30am. Most of us dragged our feet down the train and all the way till our hostel. As it was very early in the morning, the streets are relatively empty. We were not allowed to check in to our hostel till 11:30am that day L. We left our bulky bags at the hostel’s storeroom before heading out for breakfast. We walked across multiple streets to find that the pho shop that most of us wanted to eat is CLOSED. We had no choice but to detour and find other shops (BE FLEXIBLE). After the main course, we proceeded to enjoy our EGG COFFEE!

As there are much time left before the time to check in, we chill at the coffee place, observing the lifestyle of the Vietnamese population and taking pictures.

After which, Mervin and I decided to have our 3rd massage of the trip as there was still approximately one hour left while the others proceeded to wander around the streets. The foot massage was WOW, very smooth (很划) !

We had rice for lunch as we already had noodles (pho) for the past few days.. we ordered fried rice, lemon chicken rice, pork ribs rice etc! Then, we headed on to buy some souvenirs for our family and friends. They include mostly Vietnamese G7 coffee, elephant pants, sleeveless and of course there will be some joker (Jie Wei) that buy the straw hat! After much walking and sweating like nobody’s business, we decided to go back to our hostel to freshen up ourselves. While the rest of the team headed off to the night market, Mervin, Mao and I decided to go for our last affordable massage.
